On the morning of March 24th, at the auditorium of Phan Chau Trinh University, the Continuous Simulation Training Program "Simulation in Healthcare: From the Beginning" took place. The program aimed to provide training, update knowledge, and enhance preclinical skills for nearly 120 participants, including practicing doctors from hospitals and clinical instructors from universities. The program was organized in a flexible format, combining both online and offline components.
The program featured special guests, including Associate Professor Dr. Paul E. Phrampus - Director of the Peter M. Winter Institute for Simulation, Education, and Research (WISER) at the University of Pittsburgh; Mr. Kishaan Pillay - Marketing Director of Laerdal ASEAN, along with representatives from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy, the Faculty of Medicine - Da Nang University, and other institutions.
Following the opening remarks by Dr. Nguyen Huu Tung - Chairman of the Council of Phan Chau Trinh University, Dr. Le Thi Huynh Trang delivered a presentation on the role of simulation in healthcare education. The course participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas with Associate Professor Dr. Paul E. Phrampus about his experience in establishing a simulation center for healthcare education and discuss important factors in successfully implementing a simulation program.
Prior to this, the university had invested in a simulation center equipped with highly realistic simulation models, operated by its own dedicated system. This facility not only serves as a preclinical training site for students but also as a trusted venue for providing preclinical skills training to doctors and healthcare professionals from various healthcare facilities in need.
