This morning, January 8, 2019, Dr. Peter Panagotacos had a free dermatology examination at Tam Tri General Hospital in Da Nang.
During his morning work at the hospital, he examined about 10 patients in 4 consecutive hours. Students of the school have observed and learned how to examine common dermatological diseases including acne, warts, psoriasis, keratosis, osteoarthritis, drug allergies, ...
The doctor instructed students how to examine, observe and describe lesions. When having a case, the doctor shows the student a slide show about that disease, describing the trait of the skin. Doctors talk with the students, for dermatological diseases, the most important thing is observing morphology of the lesion to make an accurate diagnosis. He advises patients and students to learn a lot about the different therapies and combinations of drugs.
At the same time, he shares with students documents and websites with online courses so that students can study by themselves. That is the most important thing in studying medicine in general and in Dermatology in particular.
Students love this way of learning very much, they think that this is a very practical way of learning, they gain a lot of knowledge, and are directly observed so they will understand better and remember longer. They will learn this way for 2 weeks and it is expected that the doctor will try to give them an overview of the dermatological diseases and the diagnostic approach.
The school is very pleased to welcome Professor Peter Panagotacos to the school to guide students. He is a serious man, serious work, and agile. Not only the students but also the lecturers of the school have learned a lot from him.
