On February 7, 2023, at Phan Chau Trinh University, a research team from the University of Sydney, Australia led by Dr. Phoebe Williams, along with their colleagues, had a working session and signed a research collaboration agreement with the university.
Accordingly, both parties have signed a research collaboration agreement on neonatal sepsis and antibiotic resistance, with the collaboration of hospitals within the system, including Tam Tri General Hospital in Da Nang, Tam Tri General Hospital in Nha Trang, and Tam Tri General Hospital in Dong Thap. Prior to this, both parties have conducted exchange programs, initial surveys, and discussions to reach an agreement on the research collaboration topics in the near future.
The representatives of the leadership from both universities signed the collaboration agreement.
On the university's side, the research delegation was welcomed by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dang Quoc Chan, Vice Rector in charge of training; Dr. Nguyen Xuan Huong, Director of the Research and International Cooperation Center; Dr. Le Thi Huynh Trang, Director of the Preclinical Skills Center, along with other faculty members in the research team. The delegation had the opportunity to visit the research facilities of Phan Chau Trinh University and its affiliated hospital. They highly praised the university's training and research platforms, recognizing them as favorable conditions for sustainable collaboration between the two institutions.
Ms. Williams added, "Our research project has been implemented in several countries such as Sri Lanka, Philippines, Indonesia, Tonga, Kenya, Vanuatu, and Vietnam. We are delighted to have the participation of Phan Chau Trinh University and the multi-hospital system. This is the first private hospital system to join our research team, and it will provide diverse and valuable research outcomes for the team."
